Yoga at Shanti Foundation

Since May 2023, children in the Tution programme have been benefiting from free yoga classes given by our partner SAY-Yoga in Bangalore.

Yoga is a way of life that helps to calm the mind, reduce the stress of daily life and get more in touch with oneself. As well as the Ashtanga poses for muscle tone, the chanting of mantras and breathing techniques help to resource and connect with the inner self. According to Iyengar's philosophy, "Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.".

The children really enjoy these moments. They train their minds and their muscles. It's also a much-appreciated moment of relaxation and group sharing.
